Ready to shift gears in your career?

PCC’s commercial driver’s license program may be for you. Our comprehensive CDL program is tailored to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to embark on a rewarding career in the transportation industry.

Why this career might be right for me:

  • High demand – the American Trucking Association projects a shortage of 1 million drivers by 2030
  • Competitive pay and benefits including paid vacation/holidays, health insurance and retirement plans
  • Carriers are competing for drivers, often offering sign-on bonuses
  • The road is your office
  • Opportunity to start your own business or advance into roles such as trainer, dispatcher and logistics professional

What will I learn?

PCC's Class A CDL training program provides students with the skills to get a Class A CDL license and become eligible for entry-level commercial driver positions. This class includes ELDT theory and behind-the-wheel (BTW) training and must be completed with an FMCSA-registered training program or provider such as PCC.

OEWS does not collect information on whether an individual wage is entry or experienced level. The estimate of an "entry" wage is the mean of the lower one-third and the estimate of an "experienced" wage is the mean of the upper two-thirds of the wage distribution. These and other additional extensions to the OEWS data series are provided by the Colorado Department and Labor & Employment. They have not been validated by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and are not, therefore, official BLS data series. CDLE feels, however, that they provide additional information that is useful to the users of CDLE data. Entry level and Experienced wage rates represent the means of the lower 1/3 and upper 2/3 of the wage distribution, respectively. Data is from a semiannual survey.
