What Will I LearnThis program teaches you the basic skills and procedures needed to assist hospital patients, long-term care residents, and home health care clients with their daily living activities. This program is 123 hours in length which is more than the minimum federal requirement of 75 hours. This is so the student will be work ready upon graduation. PCC's certification exam pass rates are consistently above the overall state average.
Career InformationThe Nurse Aide program prepares you to work as an entry-level bedside caregiver in health care facilities or home health care services. You can work in a variety of positions: nursing assistant, nurse aide, orderly, or attendant. Salary ranges from $36,012.00 to $49,121.00.
Our Experience FacultyThe faculty of the nurse aide program is primarily registered nurses with a wide variety of experience including hospital, long-term care, and home health care.
THC (marijuana) is part of the required 10-panel drug screen prior to admittance into any Health Professions or Public Safety program at PCC. The passage of Amendment 64 in the State of Colorado, does not overrule Federal law, which states this is still an illegal substance. Students testing positive for THC (marijuana) will not be allowed entrance or re-entrance into a Health or Public Safety program.
The nurse aide program prepares students for other health profession programs that require previous health care experience. Acceptance into some nursing programs requires their students be a CNA.
