Required Awareness and Prevention Training Regarding Sexual Violence
Federal law (Violence Against Women Act, Title IX, Clery Act) requires colleges to provide awareness and prevention training to all new students. This training relates specifically to sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating and relationship violence, domestic violence, and stalking, as well as providing training on Bystander Intervention. PCC will utilize online training through EVERFI to provide training on sexual assault prevention and alcohol/drug abuse prevention to new, transfer, and readmit students.

PCC requires all student to complete sexual assault prevention and alcohol/drug abuse prevention during their first semester of enrollment at the college. Be sure to check your student email to launch the trainings (share deadline, etc.), complete the survey (optional), and complete the training modules. After you complete the first part of the trainings, you will receive notification to complete the second part, which will be a review as well as a survey to assist the College in finding out how beneficial the program was for you.

How to File a Complaint
Students are encouraged to resolve complaints at the lowest level possible. Talking with the staff or faculty member involved is the student's responsibility and the first step to resolving any issues.

If the matter cannot be resolved, then the student should follow these steps to report the complaint:

  • Visit the Pueblo Community College website and scroll to the bottom of the home page.
  • Under Quick Links, in the first column, they can click on the link to "Report a Concern or Incident."
  • The page that comes up will describe different types of complaints and the student should select the form that best suits their complaint.
  • The student can complete and submit the form after they've provided the information describing their complaint.

Students are expected to self-report their complaints by following this process. Having the complaint written by the student (self-reporting) is the best way to ensure that a comlaint is addressed in a timely manner and that there is a record of the complaint.

Once submitted, PCC employees have a process that they must follow to see that the complaint is addressed within a specific amount of time.
