VETERANS UPWARD BOUND (VUB) is a U.S. Department of Education funded program that provides FREE college preparatory and refresher courses to qualifying veterans beginning or returning to college. We offer Day and Evening classes during the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters at both Pueblo Community College and Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs. VUB will also assist participants who do not have a high school diploma to prepare for the General Educational Development (GED) test. Participants also receive assistance from other TRIO programs on campus as they continue to progress with their educational plan.

Academic instruction is available in the subject areas of English, mathematics, science, career planning, computer literacy, and Spanish. This program is an opportunity for veterans to re-establish fundamental skills and study habits, which are prerequisites for successful performance at the post-secondary educational level. Additionally, Veterans Upward Bound provides access to academic resources, employment referrals, assistance with VA benefits applications and referrals to various community assistance organizations.
Colorado State University at Pueblo is the host university for this program with classes being offered at Pueblo Community College and Pikes Peak Community College. The program, all classes and materials are FREE for those who qualify.
