Julian "Jamie" Manzanares - Director, TRiO Project Success
Jamie was born and raised in Walsenburg, CO. Jamie has an AAS degree in both Computer Science and Electronics, a BSBA in Business Management, and a Masters Degree in Organizational Management.
Jamie has a very diverse work history. He was an instructor at John Mall High School in Walsenburg and an Education Counselor in Trinidad. He then joined the Air Force and had three different career fields. A Satellite Communication Maintenance Technician, Airlift Aerospace Maintenance Technician and a Space System Operations Specialist. Jamie spent ten years as a Technical Support Analyst for the Colorado Community College System.
Lisa Aragon - Academic/Retention Advisor, TRiO Project Success
Lisa Aragon, the new Retention/Academic Advisor was born and raised in Pueblo. She graduated from South High School and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications from USC, now CSU-Pueblo. She earned a Master of Arts in Counseling-Student Affairs in Higher Education from the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs.
Lisa has worked in higher education for fifteen years in many capacities including Student Services Coordinator at PCC Fremont Campus. She is excited about the opportunity to help students succeed.
Beverly Sparks - Transfer Advisor, TRiO Project Success
A native a Pueblo, Beverly earned her BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management in 2003 from the University of Northern Colorado and she earned her MBA in Business Administration from Colorado Technical University in August 2010.
Beverly joined the TRiO Project Success team in March of 2009. Prior to joining Project Success, Beverly was the Scheduling Specialist in Admissions and Records here at Pueblo Community College. Beverly has served as the Special Events Coordinator with the Latino Chamber of Commerce and she was the Event Planner/Account Executive for PM Productions.
Barbara Simms - Educational Advisor, TRiO Project Success
Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, Barbara has been a resident of Pueblo since 1977. Barbara graduated from East High School. She received an AS Degree from Pueblo Community College in 2001 and a BS Degree and Teaching Certificate for Secondary Education from CSU-P in 2004.
Barbara has been involved in the education of students of all ages (elementary through college) since she started her career in 1999. Barbara was hired as an Adjunct Math Instructor, tutor and advisor at PCC as soon as she completed her student teaching at Rye High School in December of 2004.
Nicholas Goodsell - Program Specialist,TRiO Project Success
Nicholas Goodsell is originally from Denver and moved to Pueblo in June 2000. He graduated from Pueblo West High School in May 2002. He received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science in May 2009 from Colorado State University – Pueblo and his MA degree in Educational Leadership and Student Affairs in Higher Education from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
Nicholas is a first-generation, low-income student and alumni of the TRiO – Student Support Services program at Colorado State University – Pueblo. As a young professional, Nicholas is highly passionate in helping disadvantaged students reach their goals through education. His future goal is to earn a doctoral degree in some form of student services in education.
