VI.                Club Announcements

a.       Performing Arts made a motion for their club to receive the fall and spring semester stipends.  We can’t authorize these stipends.  We will make sure that they receive the spring stipend because they became a club in the beginning of the semester.

b.       CBU asked if there could be a ballot for the executive members just like the ballot that is made for the senators.  Ryan and Ira were put in charge of this.

c.       Derrick thanked all of those who participated in Spring Fling and the Car Show.  You all did a great job.

d.       Henry Reyes, advisor from CBU, spoken about the group of members that represent PCC at nationals in Kansas City.  PCC was announced at all of the meetings.  The officers were outstanding.  They placed in the top 25% of 110 teams.  That is a great job!!!

e.       It was asked by the Executive Members and Derrick, if in the future there are things that we could do to get more involvement for meetings, to paperwork, to new advisor.

                                                                           i.      Discussion of maybe an advisors retreat.  This will be for those advisors that are new to senate that might need help with items that need to be done for their club.

ii.      Paper work – Some of the paperwork seems to be repeating itself.  This will be looked at to see if maybe Senate can reduce the amount of paper work that needs to be done.

iii.      Summer Activities – Senate does not “run” in the summer but the executive members do meet at least once a month.  If a club does plan to do something, they still need to fill out an activity request form and get it approved.

iv.      Code of Conduct - After attending nationals, the CBU club decide it might help if a code of conduct was put in effect at PCC.  Derrick stated that PCC does have a code of conduct and would get this information for the senators.

                                                                          v.      Funds – It was mention that some clubs did not know how much their club had for funds, did not know how to transfer funds from one account to another, or what to do if when they needed to buy something for their club if their advisor did not have a P-card.  Derrick said he would get with fiscal this summer.

vi.      Leadership Conference – The executive members this year attended a conference in Texas.  At this conference, we learned about improving membership and how to get the students more involved.  We will be discussing what can help this summer so that next fall and spring semesters; senate will have more involvement with the students.

VII.              Adjournment – 4:54pm

a.       Motion – CBU

b.       Second – Skills Welding
