About our Main Campus Student Ambassadors
Rick Ramos is in his last semester of his Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis in social work. He plans to transfer to CSU-P in the fall of 2008 where he will complete the next step in his education. He was born in Pueblo, Colorado and graduated from Keating High School. Michelle Schricker has a heart for those who find themselves with no hope for the future. She knows from experience that education gives hope. As an Ambassador representing PCC, she says it is her goal to share that hope with others. She goes on to say that she is convinced that anyone in the United States that wants to improve their life can get an education and that regardless of backgrounds, economic status or any other obstacle it it possible. Adriana Carlson is working toward an Associate of Arts degree and plans to transfer to Colorado State University Fort Collins for a degree in journalism. She graduated from Lake County High School in spring of 2006 and just recently moved to Pueblo. She attends PCC because of the programs and the caring, progressive environment. Josh Fitzpatrick is working towards an Associates of Applied Science in the field of Welding. He will be starting a major in Business Administration which he will be attending Colorado State University Pueblo in fall 2008. He attended PCC through his junior and senior years of high school and really liked the faculty and the campus. Fremont Campus Program Overview
The Main Campus Student Ambassador program allows PCC the opportunity to recognize special honor students and to utilize their talents to provide outreach into the college and local community. The program provides a part-time employment opportunity while simultaneously providing hands on leadership skills for students attending the Pueblo campus.
§ Ambassadors will receive a starting wage of $8.25 per hour for work performed on behalf of the college between 15 and 20 hours per week.
§ Opportunity to make a positive impact on campus and in the community.

§ Networking and community service opportunities with on and off campus individuals and organizations.
§ Leadership training and development and hands on work experience
§ Assisting local youth with college awareness and enrollment process
§ Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.600 or above and have completed at least 9 credit hours at PCC at the 100 level or higher.
§ Applicant must have a genuine interest in assisting others to attend college.
§ Applicant must enroll at least half-time (6 credits) for fall and spring during year of employment. Applicant must be willing to work one full academic year.
§ Applicant must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on program demand.
§ Applicant must have customer service experience including working one-on-one and via phone with clients/customers.
§ Familiarity with Microsoft Suite (Word, Access, Excel) and proficient keyboarding skills.
§ Applicant must have proficient keyboarding skills.
§ Willingness to speak publicy.
§ Willingness to work with local high schools.
§ Ability to work well with others on a team.
§ Ability to work independently when needed.
§ Conduct campus tours for individuals and groups.
§ Staff college information table at career fairs and events.
§ Assist with planning, implementing and evaluating recruitment, retention and graduation activities as needed.
§ Assist with walk-in registration to guide new students through the process.
§ Accompany staff on visits to business organizations, service clubs and other college meetings or activities as requested.
§ Perform other duties as requested by the Department of Enrollment Management and Student Retention.
§ Visit local high schools consistently throughout the semester to work with prospective students.
§ Ambassadors must be willing to participate in a mandatory training session prior to the start of the fall semester. .
§ Hours will vary from approximately 15 - 20 hours a week.
§ Ambassadors may be required to work nights and weekends for outreach and public relation events.
The performance of each Ambassador will be evaluated on a regular basis. If work performance does not meet satisfactory standards, the Student Ambassador may be placed on probation, asked not to complete the semester or not to reapply to the program. Students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.200 in order to remain in the program.
§ Applications will be available in the spring semester and must be submitted by stated deadline.
§ Applicants who meet necessary criteria will be interviewed by a selection committee. Selected applicants will be forwarded through the next phase.
§ Selected applicants will be required to take a drug screening and background check.
§ Upon satisfactory drug screen and background check results, selected applicant names will be forwarded to the Dean of Student Services for a disciplinary clearance signature prior to final appointments.
§ Final appointments will be made by the Director of Enrollment Management and Student Retention.
§ Student will be notified of selection and will be required to sign a Student Ambassador contract which includes information on job duties and requirements.
§ Selection will be for a one-year appointment.
§ Current Ambassadors must reapply annually.
§ Commitment to ethical conduct is expected of every Ambassador. This includes, but is not limited to the following imperatives:
§ Contribute to society and human well-being.
§ Avoid harm to others.
§ Be honest and trustworthy.
§ Be fair and take action not to discriminate.
§ Respect the privacy of others.
§ Honor confidentially.
