Services for the Undecided Student
Our office is well resourced for helping new and continuing students sort through the difficult task of choosing their academic course of study and/or career tracks. Currently the center provides:
Center Services for New Students
- Assistance to new students with enrollment questions.
- Help new students select the appropriate course of study and refer the student to the appropriate faculty advisor.
- Orient new students to the PCC Basic Skills Assessment.
- Interpret results of the PCC Basic Skills Assessment for new students.
- Assist undecided students to develop a temporary academic plan.
- Career other helpful Assessments (see "Assessments We Provide").
Center Services for Continuing Undecided Students
- Career decision making support, to include:
- Initial career decision-making orientation session(s).
- Career assessment (currently DISCOVER® ACT® software or the Self-Directed Search PAR®.)
- Career assessment results interpretation.
- Continuous support for referral to faculty, library and technological information for making academic and career decisions based upon results of the assessment.
- Counseling and Educational Resource Referral.
