Career InformationCareer paths for Engineers are extensive. There are
more than 25 major specialties, including aerospace, chemical, mining and
metallurgical, mechanical, architectural, electrical, and systems. Engineers
apply mathematical principles and those of many sciences to the solution of
practical design problems. Most engineers specialize in a particular area. The PCC

What Will I LearnThe Pre-Engineering program is designed for students
interested in studying for the engineering profession through the community
college pathway. This pathway prepares students for the completion of a 2-year
Associate of Science (AS) degree that meets the requirements of the statewide
engineering articulation agreement with Colorado’s four-year engineering
Bachelor’s Degree programs. Completion of the Associate’s Degree completes the
first two years of an engineering Bachelor’s Degree, and guarantees transfer at
the junior level.
