  • BUSINESS MANAGEMENT - AA Transfer Degree

    Online Classes provide Flexibility and Affordability

    The fully online AA in Business Management provides flexibility for those who are working or have other obligations with full and part-time schedules to completion plus additional affordability of using e-books. PCC’s online Business Management degree is also much more cost-effective compared to other online offerings at other institutions.

    Career Information
    Career paths for those with an AA in Business Management and after transferring to a 4-year university and obtaining a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting, can lead to a variety of business careers.

    Degree Transfer
    Students pursuing the AA degree in Business Management must complete 37 credits of General Education requirements and 23 credits of core courses. The AA degree transfers to the following Colorado Public Four-Year institutions of higher education:

    Accounting students wishing to transfer should enroll in the Business Management AA degree transfer program even if planned bachelor’s degree or major would be Accounting.

    The PCC Business Management and Accounting faculty have over 50 years combined experience in instruction and over 55 years of work experience in areas ranging from accounting, brokerage, finance and banking to retailing and sales.

    Certificate Options

    The Business Management Certificate teaches you job performance skills related to careers in business.  It is a short intensive course of study which prepares you for entry-level work. You can apply all course work for this certificate to the AAS degree.

    The Business Fundamental Certificate prepares you for an entry-level position in business or for starting your own small business.  You can apply all course work for this certificate to the AAS Degree in Business Management.

    The Entrepreneurship Certificate program prepare you to open your own business.  The certificate comprises six classes that introduce you to the fundamentals of sales, marketing, management, and accounting.  You can apply all course work for this certificate to the AAS Degree in Business Management.

    The Real Estate Mini-Certificate prepares you to obtain the Colorado Real Estate License to you can pursue a career in the real estate field.  The most popular career choice is real estate sales, but you can work as a property manager, title researcher, or loan document closer.  The six real estate classes total 168 classroom hours to meet Colorado Requirements; they cover Real Estate Law, Contracts, Regulations, Closings, Record keeping, and Practical Applications.  To earn the Real Estate Associate Broker’s License, you must attach your license to an employing real estate broker who agrees to supervise your work for the first two years in the field. 

    The Bookkeeping Certificate focuses on the role of accounting basics in business and management to prepare students for an entry-level position in Bookkeeping, Payroll, Accounting, and Auditing Clerks. Students will encounter real-world scenarios used in payroll, tax, and computerized accounting along with the use of bookkeeping software. Students will use accounting information resources and systems, and present conclusions based on accounting and business data. Additionally, students will use ledgers, journals, and worksheets to complete formal, informal, and quantitative accounting tasks.

    The Retail Management Certificate, endorsed by the Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC), is an accredited business program that will give you the skills you need to get started or advance the career of those working in the retail management, food industry, and related fields, for the entry and mid-level management position challenges of the future. The program teaches you foundational principles of business, retail management, finance, marketing and business communication. The curriculum encompasses business essentials and also emphasizes the skill sets needed for effective management and communication in the work environment. 

    Skills and knowledge gained in the program include the ability to:

    • Describe structure and operation of retail organizations, merchandising (price, location, time promotion and quantity), and advertising operations.
    • Demonstrate contemporary written communication skills by producing memos, letters, informal and formal reports.
    • Demonstrate skills in leading, negotiating, and working in harmony with others in a business setting.
    • Solve business problems involving bank reconciliation, percent, fractions, decimals, payroll, interest, present value, and depreciation.


    TheLeadership Certificate program is to prepare students for lives of learning, leadership, and service; and designed to enhance and explore leadership potential through a curricular design that includes academic courses, seminars, and community service opportunities.

    The Leadership certificate will verify student’s leadership education and training for potential transfer colleges and employers.

    By obtaining a PCC leadership certificate, students should be able to demonstrate the following:
