COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Provides the student with information necessary to prepare itineraries for foreign and domestic travel. They will also learn how to make reservations for transportation arrangements and issue confirming documents.

COURSE GOAL:

After successfully completing this course, the student will be proficient in using the Apollo Reservation System.

6.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

A.

To introduce the student to the capabilities of the Apollo airline computer system.

B. To become proficient in requesting availability and determining fares.

C. To become proficient in constructing PNR's.
D. Learn all codes necessary in requesting special services and include in PNR.

Special Remarks:

1. Attendance:  College policy states that students may be dropped from enrollment when absent 20% of the scheduled class meetings.  If enrolled from the beginning of the term, 9 hours will usually constitute 20% of a 3-credit semester course.  Reinstatement procedures are described in the PCC catalog.
2. Tardy Policy:  A student who is late three times (enters classroom after the instructor has taken roll) will be charged with one full absence unless he/she can provide valid reasons for one or more of these tardies.
3. Missed Exams:  It is the student's responsibility, whether present or absent, to obtain all material presented and to complete all course assignments.  If prior arrangements are made or extenuating circumstances exist, make up of tests may be allowed.  Late homework papers will not be accepted unless those same extenuating circumstances exist.  Make up of quizzes is to be at the instructor's discretion.
8. COURSE OUTLINE:

The student will complete Lessons 1-20 in the student workbook with the assistance of the internet Apollo Simulation.  All workbook exercises and on-line exercises and quiz for each lesson group must be successfully completed before going on to the next.

There will be a mid-term exam covering the material in Lesson 1-10 and a final exam covering all lessons 1-20.
