Introduction to OSHA
Since OSHA was created in 1971, workplace fatalities have been cut in half and occupational injury and illness rates have declined 40 percent. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) exists as a Federal Agency in the Department of Labor. OSHA Administers the Federal safety and health laws that require employers to provide a safe and healthy workplace for their employees.
