Commercial Energy Audit Training
This is a 40-hour course to teach energy analysis of commercial buildings. The course will prepare facility and plant managers, residential energy auditors and other professionals to conduct energy audits, improve facility operations practices, reduce facility operating costs, and apply for energy incentives. Much of this course will be hands-on and participants will complete a full commercial energy audit on a nearby building. Topics taught will be: lighting; motors and drives; water and utility use; heating, cooling, and ventilation systems; heat pumps and hot water systems; and overall building envelope.

Solar PV Installation
This is an introductory course for those interested in learning how to install both stand alone and grid-tie photovoltaic electrical systems. There is lots of hands-on instruction and opportunity to practice installing a real system.

Mine Safety Training (MSHA)

  • Annual Underground Miner Refresher. $100. This 8-hour classroom course fulfills the MSHA 30 CFR 48 regulations and covers all up-to-date safety information, including much of the content listed below.
  • New Surface Miner. $125. This 16-hour course fulfills the MSHA requirements for surface mining.
  • New Underground Miner. $250. This 32-hour course fulfills the MSHA 30 CFR 48.25 regulations and covers statutory miners' rights; self-rescue and respiratory devices; transportation controls and communication systems; introduction to the work environment; escape and emergency evacuation plans; firewarning and firefighting; ground control; working in areas of highwalls, water hazards, pits and spoil banks; illumination and night work; health; hazard recognition; electrical hazards; first aid; and explosives.

Heavy Equipment Operator

Training available on a single piece of equipment or a range of equipment. Typically we train on motor graders, backhoes, hydraulic excavators, bulldozers, and front end loaders. Course length and costs vary depending on number enrolled and training needs. Please contact the college for more info.

Commercial Drivers License

 

Classroom and hands-on training to prepare for entry-level tractor-trailer driving. Courses are 160 - 200 hours in length depending on individual driver skill. Prices vary depending on number of participants enrolled. Please contact the college for more info.
