Pueblo Community College, Fremont Campus, offers non-credit computer classes designed specifically for senior adults.

 

If you are interested in taking a ‘Cyber Senior’ computer class to learn more about the ever changing world of the personal computer, digital photography and the Internet, here is your opportunity to enroll in a class designed specially for you.

Spring 2013 Schedule of Classes 

 

CRN 101 - Creating a Digital Memory Story Book

          Dates – Tuesdays, February 19, 26 and March   5
                        
Time – 10:00 – 12:00

                         Location – Room 124

                         Three 120 Minute Sessions

          Cost: $39.00 includes materials

 

Course Description: The ‘Photo Story’ (a free download) program enables you to create magnificent photo stories from your treasured photo memories complete with music and spectacular transitions. Once your digital memory book is created you may share it with others on CD ROM or email. This class is a must for the digital photography enthusiast! Participants are encouraged to bring to class their digital camera, download cable and user manual. Participants should bring to the first class meeting several digital pictures to work on a project and a blank CD ROM or thumb drive to save your presentation.

 

CRN:102 - Getting the Most Out of Your Laptop Computer
(bring your own laptop)

             Dates – Tuesdays, March 12, 19 and April 2

                            Time – 10:00 – 12:00

                            Location - Campus Room 124

                            Three 120 Minute Sessions

             Cost: $39.00 includes materials - Class is limited to 8 participants

 

Course Description: Have you recently purchased a new laptop computer or have a laptop computer that you have questions about? This class will answer your questions about what is installed on your laptop computer and what can be deleted to save valuable disk space. The class will teach you how to connect the laptop computer to a wireless Internet connection so you will know how to use it when traveling.  The course will teach you how to check the system file system, how to delete programs and files and how to install and upgrade a free virus and spyware program. Internet and eMail will also be explored in this class. This class will go on a field trip to access a wireless in the local community.

 

CRN: 103 - Introduction to the Personal Computer
                         And Introduction to MS Word 

                 Dates – Tuesdays, April 9, 16 and 23

                        Time - 10:00 – 12:00 p.m.

                        Location: Room 124

                        Three 120 Minute Sessions

                 Cost: $39.00 includes materials

 

Course Description: This class provides the beginning computer user with hands-on experience in the elementary use of the personal computer. This course introduces the basic feature of and the terminology associated with personal computers, what to look for when buying a new computer, including topics such the operating system and file/folder management (Windows 7), eMail, the Internet (Internet Explorer), and word processing (Word 2010).  Participants must have access to a home computer with Microsoft Office 2007 or higher.
