Review the PCC Library Medical Collection
Option #1
Using CARL (our online catalog), search for topics of interest. Identify the Library of Congress Classification number and retrieve the item from the circulating collection. Go to our catalog here.
Option #2
In the circulating collection (on the 2nd floor, main campus), the health and medicine collections will be located on shelves #36-38. Major subject categories are as follows:
QM Human anatomy
QP Physiology
RA Hygiene
RC Radiology
RK Dentistry
RT Nursing
Use Medical Indexes
Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health (CINAHL), Radiology Index and the Index to Dental Literature are available in print in the central Reference area. The most current information has been incorporated into MedLine PubMed (see above).
Also available are the periodical holdings lists for Pueblo's Parkview Medical Center and St. Mary Corwin Hospital. This allows you to see who may locally own a specific medical journal you need.
Review Current Medical Magazines in the Periodical Collection
The PCC Library currently subscribes to numerous medical magazines; check the online catalog for current holdings.
Internet Resources
There are thousands of web sites that provide health and medical information. Reliability and currency of their information must always be a consideration by the user. Some of the more reliable sites can be found via our medical links here.
