Research
"Research" can be fun! It is an opportunity to learn about a new subject or more about a subject in which you have an interest.
Research is simply identifying a subject, finding information about that subject, writing the speech, paper, video, etc., and documenting or giving credit to your sources (citations in paper and bibliography).  You will analyze, synthesize, or interpret the information you found.
Research builds on previous work….it is a process…..it is continual.
First step: identify the assignment and the instructor's expectations. If it is a group assignment, consult with your peers and ensure everyone is in agreement on what must be done, and divide the research accordingly.
Second step: Check what materials are available at PCC.  A good place to start is the library's catalog and online databases. These are reliable, authored, and cited sources that are an efficient beginning as opposed to going directly to the Internet. The subject-specific Research Guides developed by PCC Library staff will provide you with more resource avenues.  Once you've used the resources at PCC, check the resources of other area libraries.
Links are provided below to assist you as you work through your research assignment.  They are arranged by line -- left to right.
If you have a question, stop by the library or email us!
