HOW TO SEARCH EBSCO DATABASES
EBSCO provides numerous databases with authoritative, scholarly, peer reviewed journal articles. Many journal articles are available full text.
To access these databases, go to the PCC Library’s main page at http://wwwpueblocc.edu/CampusResources/Library. On campus and off campus access instructions are provided. After you have logged in and see the screen shown below,
Select Advanced Search

Searching

1) Select the database or databases you wish to search in Column 3, Choose Resources. You may select databases by placing a checkmark in the box before the database title.
2) Enter your search term/s in Column 1, Enter Search Terms. For example, adolescent drinking in the first box. Then click the blue search button.
Another search strategy is to put the first term in the first box and the second term in the second box. For example, Education would go in the first box. You would then click Add Another Search Option and place your second term, Careers, in that box. You would then click the blue search button.
3) Column 2, Add Search Qualifiers, permits you to select a library, select a format, select a language, select a material type, and limit search results by date of publication.
4) The search results will show the number of hits for each database on the the screen.
a. Click on the article title to provide the full text, abstract and other search keywords.
b. Search keywords appearing in the article enable you to identify other search terms. Click on the key word and another search will be performed using the new key word.
5) If you want to refine your search (decrease the number of hits) click on the title of an EBSCO database and :
a. Reenter your search terms, but limit by full text or by date
