PCC Library Medical Collection

Option 1
Using CARL (online catalog), search for topics of interest. Identify the Library of Congress Classification number and retrieve the item from the circulating collection. Go the Library's main page and select PCC Online Catalog.

Option 2
In the circulating collection (on the 2nd floor, main campus), the health and medicine collections will be located on shelves #36-38. Major subject categories are as follows:

QM                  Human anatomy
QP                   Physiology
RA                   Hygiene
RC                   Radiology
RK                   Dentistry
RT                   Nursing

Similar items may be found in the Reference collection (first floor) on shelves R-7 and R-8.

Use the Medical Indexes Available
The Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health is available via FirstSearch. At the Library's main page, select Online Resources, then Periodicals, then First Search. Use the authorization and password that are posted next to your terminal or available at the Library's check-out desk.

The Index to Dental Literature has been incorporated into MedLine / PubMed.
    Go the Library's web page and select Online Resources, then Internet Resources and Medicine and Health. Select Medline/PubMed and search. Under the LIMIT tab, select dental journals.

Review Current Medical Magazines in the Periodical Collection
Check the online catalog for current holdings.

Review Medical Periodicals Available via the National Library of Medicine
