Users may:
- Use Internet terminals for research and education purposes.
- Sign in at each terminal using the PCC student ID number. If not a PCC student, ask at the Circulation desk for a 'community' user name and password.
- Anyone under 13 may use the Internet when (1) accompanied by a parent/guardian, (2) the parent/guardian remains in the Library with them, and (3) the terminal is not needed by a PCC student.
- Remain online for 20 minutes; if no one is waiting for the terminal at the end of this period, Library team members may allow the user to continue.
- Print copies; copies are free for students and five cents per page for non-students.
- Use the computer in carrel 18 to view a personal or course related CD-ROM. This is not networked.
- Download software to the user’s personal floppy disk.
- Use Email. The Colorado Attorney General’s Office has determined that e-mail is not confidential correspondence, so others may read E-mail you send.
- Use computers in carrels 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, or 28, or the Learning Center to take online exams, assessment tests, typing-skills tests, or computer-related assignments.
Users may not:
- Download software to the computer’s hard drive.
- Install software. CD-ROM users may use carrel 18.
- Run programs from floppy disks; please use computers in carrels 25, 26, and 27.
- Access pornography sites. Anyone found accessing a pornographic site will be logged off of the Internet and Library-accessed Internet use suspended. The Library is in a State building and the Internet service is provided through State tax dollars. Pornography is offensive to some patrons. Please respect the rights of others.
