General Education Courses are a part of every student’s course of study regardless of his or her major; these courses are intended to impart common knowledge, intellectual concepts, and attitudes that every educated person should possess.
The general education courses for the Associate of Arts, the Associate of Science, the generalist Associate of General Studies, and each Associate of Applied Science degree are identified in the general education curriculum of each of those degrees. The Associate of General Studies technical pre-professional transfer degrees in Accounting, Business Management, Computer Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education, and New Media Studies have identified general education course requirements within each degree.
