COURSE DESCRIPTION:

COURSE GOAL:

After successfully completion of this course, the student will have the skills necessary to prepare domestic and international itineraries, make necessary reservations, and issue appropriate documents.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

The student will be able to:

A.

To introduce the student to the North American and Worldwide OAGs, and identify appropriate itineraries from each.

B. To have student learn by memory major domestic and international airport codes.

C. To locate and identify rules in the domestic rules tariff.

D. To think critically about the hub and spoke system and the effects of deregulation.

E. To describe the function of each part of a standard ticket.

F. To prepare a standard ticket, open ticket, prepaid ticket advice, credit card form, ticket exchange, tour order, MCO, Amtrak, ticket and ARC report.

Special Remarks:

Attendance:  College policy states that students may be dropped from enrollment when absent 20% of the scheduled class meeting.  If enrolled from the beginning of the term, 9 hours will usually constitute 20% of a 3-credit semester course.  Reinstatement procedures are described in the PCC catalog.

Tardy Policy:  A student who is late three times (enters classroom after the instructor has taken roll) will be charged with one full absence unless he/she can provide valid reasons for one or more of these tardies.
Missed Assignments and Exams:  It is the student’s responsibility, whether present or absent, to obtain all material presented and to complete all course assignments.  If prior arrangements are made or extenuating circumstances exist, make up of tests may be allowed.  Late homework papers will not be accepted unless those same extenuating circumstances exist.  Quizzes may not be made up.
