5. COURSE OBJECTIVES:
(A) To acquaint students with an aerobic based conditioning program featuring “Aerobic Power Circuit” training that is designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, increase flexibility, increase muscular endurance, and increase muscular strength.  Those wanting to lose weight will also find this to be an effective program for reducing body fat.

(D) To acquaint students with current findings in the area of fitness and wellness.

7. Fitness Center Grade Options:
Audit
If you are not seeking a degree, do not plan to transfer the credits earned at PCC, and do not want a letter grade; you should select the audit option.  This allows you full use of the Fitness Center but you will not be assigned a letter grade.
  Letter Grade
If you are working toward a PCC degree or plan to transfer your PCC credits, your best option is to enroll for a letter grade.  Grades are assigned as follows:
Workouts/visits Letter Grade
35 +  A
30-34 B
25-29 C
20-24 D
Less than 20 F
Your initial orientation will count as three visits and the final re-evaluation will count as two visits.  The final re-evaluation is optional and you must complete a minimum of 23 workouts to be eligible for re-evaluation.  On each visit you must spend at least 30 minutes working out, and complete at least one “Aerobic Power Circuit”.  (If your workout does not meet both the time and circuit requirements, you will bet a special computer message indicating that your workout did not meet the minimum requirements.)  You will also need to check in, check out on the computer, and fill out a workout form to be filed.  A maximum of one visit per day will be counted for grading purposes.
Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory
You may elect to enroll in the Fitness Center on a Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (pass/fail) basis.  Twenty-five workouts/visits are needed to pass.  S/U courses will apply toward all PCC degrees and will transfer.  PCC does not include S/U credits when computing grade point averages.
*Please note - You must declare how you want to be graded at the time of your orientation.  If you subsequently decide you want to change your grade status, changes are allowed during the first tow weeks of your enrollment.  After two weeks have passed, you may not change your grade status!
