The SHRM Learning System, modules one through six,  Society for Human Resource Management, latest edition.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
5. COURSE GOAL: This course provides the student with a broad overview of the contemporary issues, theories, and principles used to effectively manage human resources.  Topics include strategic management, workforce planning, human resource development, compensation, employee relations and occupational health and safety.  The course is designed to prepare human resource practitioners to take the Human Resource Certification Institute national exams for SPHR and PHR certification.
6. COURSE OBJECTIVES:
  Successful completion of the course will provide students with knowledge in the following:

Special Remarks:
1. Attendance:  College policy states that students may be dropped from enrollment when absent 20% of the scheduled class meetings.  If enrolled from the beginning of the term, 9 hours will usually constitute 20% of a three-credit semester course.  Reinstatement procedures are described in the PCC catalog.
2. Tardy Policy:  A student who is late three times (enters classroom after the instructor has taken roll) will be charged with one full absence unless he/she can provide valid reasons for these tardies.
3. Assignments/Missed Exams:  It is the student's responsibility, whether present or absent, to obtain all material presented and to complete all course assignments.  If prior arrangements are made or extenuating circumstances exist, deadlines may be negotiated.  Tests will be provided on WebCT over several days, which should eliminate makeup tests

9. ACADEMIC INTEGRITY:
  The very nature of higher education requires that students adhere to accepted standards of academic integrity. Therefore, Pueblo Community College has adopted a policy of academic conduct as described in the Student Handbook.
