COURSE COREQUISITE A corequisite is an enforceable entry requirement for a particular course. The student is required to enroll in a corequisite course at the same time of registration into the other course. In most cases, registration into the other course will be permitted if the corequisite course has been previously taken.
COURSE LOAD The normal load in a full-length semester is 16-18 credits for all programs at the College. An overload is more than 18 credits. An overload for the five-week summer term is more than seven credits.
The respective Vice President must give written permission for the student to register for an overload. To be eligible to take an overload, the student must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. A one-credit course in physical activity may be taken without being included in the calculation for determining an overload.
COURSE NUMBERING Courses are numbered to indicate level of instruction. Freshman level courses are designated in the 100 sequence, and sophomore level courses are designated in the 200 sequence. Most courses numbered less than 100 are considered remedial and do not apply to certificate and degree requirements.
COURSE PREREQUISITE A prerequisite is an enforceable entry requirement for a particular course. The student must satisfy prerequisites, or their equivalent, prior to registering for a course.
COURSE REPEATS Students may repeat courses, but repeated courses may only be counted once towards graduation requirements. The highest grade earned will be computed in the student's semester and cumulative GPA. However, all previously attempted grades will be noted on the student's permanent record. The transcript will contain an appropriate entry to indicate that the GPA has been recomputed.
FINAL EXAMINATIONS Final examinations will be held during the scheduled examination period. Final examinations must be taken during the regularly scheduled final examination period unless approved by the appropriate Dean.
