COURSE DESCRIPTION:

PRQ: All core curriculum or permission of instructor. CORQ: RTE 282. Prepares the radiologic technology student to effectively search for a job in radiography and sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technology examination.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

A comprehensive review of all aspects of Radiologic Technology. Topics include: Patient Care, Ethics, History, Anatomy and Physiology, Pathology, Physics, Circuits, Electricity, Machines, X-ray Properties, Interactions, Techniques-Grids, SID/OID, Magnification, Radiolographic Quality, Special Procedures, Quality Control, Contrast Media, and Processing.

EVALUATION PROCEDURES:

Eight mock registries will be given.

The student must complete the mock registries with 75% accuracy.

Grading Criteria:

Each mock registry will be given twice. The second time it is taken the student will be permitted to look up the answers to questions that were missed. The two scores will be averaged together and will account for 70% of the total grade.

Attendance Policy:

Any student missing 20% of the scheduled classes will be immediately dropped from the class.

METHODS OF INSTRUCTION:

 

To be successful in this course, students are expected to participate in discussions, readings, in-class writing, and peer review activities. The instructor may assign point values to such activities.
