Career Opportunities The PN program provides you with the knowledge and skills for entry level employment in hospitals, extended care facilities, and other health care agencies. You will provide general nursing care under the guidance of a registered nurse or a licensed physician.
Program Description This program teaches you to provide direct patient care. The curriculum is three to four semesters in length depending on the need for developmental courses prior to enrollment in general education requirements. After you successfully complete all certificate requirements, you are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN examination to be certified as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The PN Program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC).
Entrance requirements: BIO 201, BIO 202, BIO 204, ENG 121, PSY 235, and passing score on NET test or documented remediation.
This is a limited-entry admission program. You must meet specific program entrance requirements in addition to PCC admission requirements. You must complete all general education requirements with a “C” or better before you can be admitted to the PN program.
Apply to the PN program through the Colorado Community College Nursing Program Admission website. You can submit your application any time after you complete the prerequisites outlined in the Nursing Department Information Packet. We will rank you numerically based on the date of completed requirements, and this ranking will determine date of acceptance to the nursing program.
Note: Clinical agencies used during the program require you to successfully complete a background check and drug screen.
