The first person to arrive at a medical emergency may be a police office, a fireman or a bystander. This course provides knowledge and skills needed for the first few minutes of emergency care until more advanced help arrives.  It includes: scene and  patient assessment, airway management and oxygen use, CPR and AED use, trauma evaluation, basic trauma care, and emergency childbirth.

To enter the course, you must be at least 14 years of age.  This course will prepare you to apply for certification as a First Responder in Colorado and through the National Registry of EMTs.
