EMT-Refresher Courses are offered at both the Pueblo and Fremont Campuses!
Colorado Re-certification
You need to re-certify as an EMT-B in the State of Colorado every 3 years to be able to function as an EMT-B. The state requirements for re-certification are found here: http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/em/CertificationEducation/FrequentlyAskedQuestions.pdf
For EMT-Bs currently certified in the state of Colorado, PCC Pueblo Campus and Fremont Campus offer an EMT-B refresher course that meets the standards for recertification. You will review basic airway and ventilation, CPR/AED, medical and trauma assessment and treatment, and special considerations (pediatrics, OB, geriatrics, etc.)
The Pueblo Campus course is given partially on-line and partially in class. Your requirements for skills attestation will also be covered by this class. This is an in-class/online hybrid course and will require basic computer skills and access to a computer with high speed (DSL, cable, T-1) internet access.
The Fremont campus course is taught within the EMT-Basic course scheduled at the Fremont Campus.
NREMT Re-certification:
You are strongly urged to maintain your NREMT certification, although you do not need to do so to re-certify in the State of Colorado. This course will count toward part but not all of your requirements for NREMT re-certification. For information on NREMT re-certification, please go to http://www.nremt.org/EMTServices/rr_basic_history.asp
