News Release: Aviation maintenance, flight training courses to be offered this fall - June 16, 2006
This program consists of private pilot training and aviation maintenance courses, designed to prepare students for their FAA certification test. The courses will prepare students entering the aviation industry (civilian or military) and offer ex-military personnel an opportunity to upgrade their civilian training.
Private pilot training students will learn aviation meteorology, attend mountain flying ground school and receive private pilot flight training. In just one semester students can earn their private pilot’s license before working toward their commercial, multi-engine and flight instructor certifications.
The aviation maintenance course teaches ground handling regulations, materials and processes, and weight plus balance/ground handling. Both courses will be taught at the Aviation Technology Center (formerly the Blitz hangar), Pueblo Memorial Airport, 32451 Walt Basset Ave.
PCC Aviation Program and Steel City Aviation is offering a Discovery Flight for anyone who may be interested in PCC’s Aviation Program. Students will learn how to perform a flight pre-check, taxi the runway, and fly the Cessna. The instructor will perform the take-off and landing.
Private Pilot and Aircraft maintenance classes will begin Sept 5th. Sudents can earn their Private Pilots license by Christmas. These courses are available to high school students through the AVEP program.
