COURSE OBJECTIVES: |

By the end of the course, students will: |
|
|
(A) |
ASEP Students: all General Motors STS embedded course tests must be taken and passed for General Motors ASEP students for the semester they are enrolled in. See Automotive Internship Handbook. CAP Students: All Fundamental Automotive Systems Training (F.A.S.T.), an interactive C.D., and tests must be completed by Chrysler C.A.P. students for the semester they are enrolled in. |

(B) |
CO-OP Internship- Weekly Activity Reports must be completed and turned-into to Automotive Department Office by 5p.m. Monday for the previous week. Failure to complete report in full and turn-in on time will result in a lowering of grade as specified on the bottom of the report. |

(C) |
The student must complete a Task List of Objectives the correspond to the semester of curriculum content for which he/she is enrolled. Failure to turn-in this task sheet will result in a failure for this CO-OP Course. |

|
(D) |
The student must complete a minimum of 150 hours at a sponsoring automotive repair facility within the prescribed time frame of the semester enrolled in. |
|
|
(E) |
Diagnose and repair a parasitic draw with a DVOM meter. |
|
|
(F) |
Diagnose and repair an electrical wiring problem. |
|
|
(G) |
Remove and replace spark plug wires. |
|
|
(H) |
Check and/or set ignition timing. |
|
|
(I) |
Properly load test a battery and determine state of charge. |

(J) |
Check starter motor current draw. |
| |
(K) |
Voltage drop test positive and negative battery cables and control circuit. |
| |
(L) |
Check charging system and alternator output. |
| |
(M) |
Diagnose and repair/replace starter motor circuit. |
| |
(N) |
Replace fuel filter. |
| |
(O) |
Check fuel system pressure. |
| |
(P) |
Perform injector balance test. |
| |
(Q) |
Remove and reinstall gas tank and repair/replace fuel pump. |
| |
(R) |
System performance test C3 or EFI/PFI |
