Requirements
Colorado real estate law requires that a candidate successfully complete a total of 168 classroom hours in the Real Estate Associate Broker Pre-License Program, pass the Real Estate Associate Broker’s examination, and submit the appropriate licensing application to the Colorado Real Estate Commission. To hold an active license, an Associate Broker must meet the above requirements and must be employed and supervised by an employing broker. Real Estate Associate Broker Pre-License Course of Study
This accelerated program, designed for working people, includes all of the courses mandated by the State of Colorado Real Estate Commission. It will cover six required courses and the168 requisite classroom hours. This program will provide a strong background on the Real Estate industry and contain much of the necessary information you will need to know to pass the Real Estate Associate Broker exam. Topics to be covered include:
- Real Estate law and practices
- Colorado contracts and regulations
- Real Estate closings
- Trust accounts and recordkeeping
- Current legal issues
- Practical applications
The classes will include practice tests to help students refresh their test-taking skills prior to taking the State licensing exam.
Prior to submitting an application for licensure, each applicant must submit a set of fingerprints which will be reviewed by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. The CBI will be investigating Bureau and Federal Bureau of Investigation records for a criminal history check.
Students should plan to attend classes on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday for fifteen weeks to complete the program in one semester. Sign up for both classes in order to sit for the Associate Broker’s exam at the end of the semester. The Real Estate program is offered in the spring and fall semesters. Completion of the two classes will also complete the Real Estate mini certificate.
