4. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Examines abnormal behavior and its classification, causes, treatment, and prevention.
5. COURSE GOAL:
The student should be able to learn the scientific study of Abnormal Psychology including the theoretical perspectives of abnormality, classification and assessment of abnormality, and methods of therapy and treatment of abnormal behavior.
6. COURSE OBJECTIVES:
I. Identify abnormal psychology- historical, research, and conceptual components.
II. Discuss the theoretical perspectives.
III. Compare and contrast the methods of assessment.
IV. Identify and differentiate the classification of psychological disorders.
V. Evaluate treatment approaches.

8. METHODS OF INSTRUCTION:
To be successful in this course, students are expected to participate in discussions, readings, in-class writing, and peer review activities. The instructor may assign point values to such activities.
9. ACADEMIC INTEGRITY:
