COURSE SYLLABUS

2. PREREQUISITE: Satisfactory completed remedial mathematics (MAT 030 and/or MAT 060) or appropriate assessment test score.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course incorporates the use of ratios and proportions relative to conversion of medical measurements.  Conversions between various measurement systems will also be stressed.

COURSE GOAL:

To learn the mathematics necessary for intravenous calculations.
6. COURSE OBJECTIVES:
  (A) To perform operations with fractions.
  (B) To perform operations with decimals.
  (C) To perform operations with ratios and proportions.
  (D) To perform applications as they apply to intravenous calculations.
7. EVALUATION PROCEDURES:
  Methods and procedures will be determined by the instructor.  These may consist of but not limited to:  quizzes, assignments, exams, individual and/or group projects.

SPECIAL REMARKS:

Homework:

Homework will be assigned and evaluated as determined by the instructor.

Cheating:

Cheating will not be tolerated and will result in a zero on that test.

Attendance:

Attendance will be required as per the school policy, i.e.. 20%  missed classes may result in being dropped.

Missed exams will result in a zero for that  exam unless other  arrangements are made prior to the exam.
