SPECIAL REMARKS

Special Note for Nursing and Psychiatric Technician Students

Receiving a passing grade in MAT103 does not guarantee admission to or continuation in nursing or psychiatric technician programs.

Due to patient safety concerns, all students admitted to the nursing and psychiatric technician program will be required to complete a clinical math exam at >90% competency prior to clinical placement.  Failure to achieve >90% competency in clinical math will result in a failing grade in NUR 112 (Basic Concepts of Pharmacology) as part of the course requirements.

Homework:

Homework will be assigned and evaluated as determined by the instructor.

Cheating:

If cheating occurs, it will result in a zero on that exam.

Attendance:

Attendance will be taken and students will be dropped when they have missed 20% of the total class time. Missed exams will result in a zero for that exam unless prior arrangements have been made.

Conduct:

Professional and courteous behavior is expected at all times.  Disruptive behavior is unacceptable in the classroom and may result in the student's temporary or permanent removal from the course.

Assistance:

Help is available outside of class in the math lab or from your instructor.

9.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY:

The very nature of higher education requires that students adhere to accepted standards of academic integrity. Therefore, Pueblo Community College has adopted a policy of academic conduct as described in the Student Handbook. Violation of academic integrity may be defined to include the following: cheating, plagiarism, falsification and fabrication, abuse of academic materials, complicity in academic dishonesty, and personal misrepresentation. It is the student’s responsibility to be aware of the behaviors that constitute academic dishonesty. Sanctions for violating the standards of academic integrity may include warning, probation, suspension, and/or failure of the course or assignment at the discretion of the instructor.
