COURSE DESCRIPTION: |
Supplements math classroom instruction through the Mathematics Support Center, a student-centered learning environment. Students will be able to utilize the following resources: professional and peer tutoring, mathematics and tutorial software, online tutorial resources, videotapes, and training guides for these resources. Students will also be able to obtain help with calculators and mathematical software required in their math courses.

B. Use and improve competency with technological resources (calculators and mathematical software) appropriate to the math course in which enrolled
C. Access and use MyLabsPlus online tutorial support
D. Use other math resources to complement classroom learning experience

EVALUATION PROCEDURES: |
The final grade for this course is determined by a combination of assignments, quizzes, and projects. The point value of each assignment will be given to the students by the instructor is a separate handout.
Grading Scale: The following Grading Scale will be used:
90% – 100% - S/A 80% – 89% - S/B 70% – 79% - S/C 60% - 69% - U/D 0% - 59% - U/F

METHODS OF INSTRUCTION: |
To be successful in this course, students are expected to participate in discussions, readings, in-class writing, and peer review activities.
This course uses MyLabsPlus for all assignments and requires active participation in the use of the online software program. All assignments must be done in MyLabsPlus.
The instructor may assign point values to such activities.

The very nature of higher education requires that students adhere to accepted standards of academic integrity. SPECIAL REMARKS: |
Assignments: Assignments will be assigned and evaluated as determined by the instructor.
Attendance: Students are expected to attend all classes. Attendance will be taken and students may be withdrawn from the class when they have missed 20% of the total class time. Missed assignments will result in a zero for that assignment.
Conduct: Professional and courteous behavior is expected at all times. Disruptive behavior is UNACCEPTABLE in the classroom and will result in immediate disciplinary sanctions which may include the student’s temporary or permanent removal from the class.
Use of Electronics in the Classroom: Computers and other electronic devices may be used in the classroom only for academic purposes as directed by the instructor. Texting and/or accessing personal e-mail and Facebook are not allowed. All cell phones must be turned off during class. If a student uses an unapproved electronic device during a test or class activity, the student will receive no credit for the activity or test, may be asked to leave the classroom, and/or may fail the course for cheating. |
