ENG 060: Language Fundamentals
10 Weeks
Please note that the following is a suggested course outline. You may want to modify it to fit your students’
needs. Remember that your goal is to improve students’ writing by linking all grammar/punctuation
assignments to writing and reading activities. Summary writing and paragraph writing should be done on a
weekly, if not daily, basis. You do not have to grade (or read) all of the work; credit can be given for
completion of some assignments. The goal is not to “cover” information but to focus on ways for students
to master writing complete sentences and unified, coherent paragraphs.
REMINDER: Students benefit the most from frequent feedback. You might want to give short,
frequent quizzes and other assignments.
