PROCEDURE

This sequence should be followed for each lesson.
  1. Students complete "Preparacion" in the textbook.
  2. Students watch the television episode for the lesson.
  3. Students complete the textbook lesson, including the audiocassette activities in the lesson.
  4. Students complete the workbook/study guide for the lesson along with the audiocassette activities.
  5. Students return to the textbook and complete the "Preparacion" for the next episode.
TELEVISION EPISODES
The Primary purpose of the television episodes is to develop listening skills and provide exposure to authentic Spanish. If possible, it is a good idea to tape these episodes. If you cannot tape them and you are not able to watch the episodes on television, the Learning Resource Center at PCC has copies that may be viewed there or taken home.
TEXTBOOK AND WORKBOOK
The textbook and workbook are designed to focus on grammar, reading and writing skills. The lessons are coordinated with the television episodes and use grammar and vocabulary that were presented in the story. The activities in these books are intended to be done after viewing the television episode. Activities using the audiocassettes are included in these books.

Grammar, vocabulary and writing exercises, and practice tests are in the workbook. The answers for the grammar and vocabulary exercises and practice tests are in the back of the workbook. You do not need to turn these assignments in. If you want me to check your written work, you can leave those assignments with the person at the front desk in AB 250 or room AB 250T. You can pick up corrected work in the same place. These assignments are for your benefit only. They will not be counted as part of your grade.

CLASS MEETINGS AND DISCUSSIONS
Mandatory class meetings will be held four times during the semester. These will be used to answer questions, give more detailed grammar explanations if needed, and provide an opportunity for speaking Spanish in class discussions. These meetings are worth 15% of your grade. Make arrangements early to attend. If needed and desired, additional optional meetings may be arranged.
MANDATORY CLASS MEETINGS: Meetings 2-5 will be held at PCC, Academic Building room 170 at 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Please be prompt.
