Military members on temporary assignment to Colorado now qualify to pay in-state tuition!
State House Bill 1163, which passed during the 2007 legislative session and went into effect July 1, will make college more affordable for military members, and their families, on temporary assignment to Colorado. They now qualify to pay in-state tuition. At Pueblo Community College the new law means a savings of about $270 per credit hour. The college now charges $345.15 per credit hour for out of state students. In-state students only pay $74.55 per credit hour. For soldiers like Specialist Jonathan Costilla, the new law will save him some much-needed cash. "To be able to go to college and not have to pay the extra hundreds of dollars is quite a bit of savings, being that we don't make that much money as it is," he said.
