Pueblo Community College is approved by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education, which approves degrees, and by the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education which approves certificates. The Pueblo Community College Curriculum and Academic Standards Committee reviews and approves new programs, or changes to existing programs, before they are sent to the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education for final state approval. Pueblo Community College grants Certificates of Completion (CERT), Associate of Science (AS), Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of General Studies (AGS), and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees. Each program requires a major area of concentration that is composed of a defined sequence of courses. A minimum of 60 semester hours is required for an associate degree, and a minimum of two courses is required for a certificate. The title and degree levels of these courses of study are subject to approval by the Community Colleges of Colorado and the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.
