CNC Machining

Students have the opportunity to manufacture parts and components provided by industry partners in the MAC 121 Conventional Lathe Operations course. Students gain knowledge in all the aspects of machining and manufacturing processes; process planning, job planning, bench- work, layout, measurement and inspection, process management, machine maintenance, and actual production of manufactured parts.
Through an exclusive partnership with Fuchs Machinery and Bridgeport, PCC has developed a learning lab that incorporates tool room CNC machines into the production environment. These machines utilize the same type of CNC programs as the HAAS equipment but requires more student interaction to run the equipment.
Because of this, the student is required to master the machining principals in this lab prior to moving on to the HAAS Learning Lab area where the process is more automated.

Courses emphasizing this technology are MAC 150 - Introduction to CNC Applications and MAC 232 - CNC Machining Center Operations.
MAC 150 provides the student with transitional information between conventional machining applications and the typical applications found in Computer Numerical Control machining. |
