As part of the renewed focus on the core competencies, the Assessment of Student Learning Committee has begun a program that maps where in each of PCC’s programs the core competencies are being covered. During the spring 2009 semester the departments have been asked to identify the coverage of these competencies in their specific programs.
This data will then be analyzed and used for the upcoming academic year in making assessment goals that assure these competency areas are covered adequately.
In conjunction, the committee plans to promote the competencies to the faculty, staff and students so as to make clear our focus of being a premier teaching institution.
