David Cardinal

David Cardinal

Inducted March 7, 2008

David Cardinal grew up on the St. Charles Mesa, attended Pueblo Junior College and received his bachelor’s degree from Denver University. He returned to Pueblo after college and opened the Pueblo office of Bosworth, Sullivan & Co., now known as RBC Dain Rauscher. As a professional broker, he earned numerous industry awards; he also served as office manager for 35 years. When two economic development groups – the Puebloans for Economic Progress and the Pueblo Development Commission – consolidated to form the Pueblo Economic Development Corporation, Dave was an integral component. He served as the first chairman and again in 1991. He was instrumental in the recruitment of companies that brought more than 8,000 new primary jobs to the community during 15 years of involvement. He has long-served on the Pueblo Memorial Airport Advisory Committee and has put forth great efforts to bring better passenger air service to Pueblo by chairing the Air Service Task Force and co-chairing its Fly Pueblo Campaign. Dave has been generous in giving back to his community, heading such organizations as the Greater Pueblo Chamber, KTSC, Rosemount Victorian House Museum and United Way of Pueblo County. He was also honored by the Greater Pueblo Chamber as a Citizen of the Year.

Jim Driscol

Jim Driscol

Inducted March 7, 2008

A Denver native, Jim Driscol received his bachelor’s degree from Regis University and continued his education in the graduate programs at University of Denver and University of WisconsinMadison. Jim put himself through college by working as a meter reader for Public Service Company of Colorado, now Xcel Energy. Advancing with the company, he became part of the Business Development Department and, in 1980, was loaned to the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. His assignment was to assist local communities and he became an integral part of Pueblo’s renaissance. He supported recruiting efforts for American Log Homes, Sperry Corporation, Target Distribution Center and Stevia Corporation. He later went to work at Sperry as manager of employee and public relations and, from that vantage point, continued to help the Pueblo Economic Development Corporation. In 1985, Jim joined the Greater Pueblo Chamber of Commerce as vice president for business development and served until his death in 2003. Jim’s community contributions included board service with the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center, Pueblo West Metro District, Pueblo County Easter Seal Society, and the Sangre de Cristo Hospice.
