Purpose Statement:

 

This position performs server and software administration, development, design support and editing of the colleges database environment including content management service (CMS) software, application software and associate content, workflow applications and services.  This position will work closely with college departments to ensure consistency of content, programmatic process, and presentation to meet college expectations.

Serve as the primary server/software administrator and developer for CMS deployment to include system administration and development of access and workflow.  Development of templates for sites and pages ensuring adherence and conformity to editorial and design standards including ADA section 508 compliance.

Ensure backend development and support for PCC’s internal and external CMS web page standards, design, and delivery are met pertaining to development and technical maintenance.

Use latest technology standards supported by the college for development of multimedia and associated systems delivery.  Develop and assist in the implementation of workflow processes, system automation, multimedia, and video products.

Ensure the web delivery of multimedia needs for the college met for all areas.

Minimum Qualifications

ALL DEGREES MUST BE EARNED FROM A REGIONALLY ACCREDITED INSTITUTION

Field of Study:

Technical Field appropriate to position or an Associate’s degree in an appropriate technology field with a minimum of four years experience in database development in SQL, web technology, or forms based development. 

Experience:

 

 

Relevant education/experience in an appropriate technical area may be considered as a substitute for formal education.

 

Development in MS SQL, Visual Studio, knowledge and experience utilizing a variety of hardware/software, web application design and development experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Operational knowledge of commercial Content Management Systems (e.g. HotBanana, Documentum, Ektron CMS 400, Joomla, Drupal).

Knowledge of SQL (Structured Query language) and ColdFusion programming.

Ability to work in programs such as Ultimus, Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat Professional.

Proficient in hand coding HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) and competent in JavaScript.

Experience with web services (SOAP, XML)

Proficient in Cascading Style Sheets (CSS 2 and 3)

Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning

Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

Superior customer service commitment and skills.

Understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience:

 

 

Experience or education in at least two of the following areas: development in SQL and development of web applications, instructional technology development and implementation, project management.
