GENERAL SUMMARY
This part-time position is assigned to the Health Professions Division and serves as a .5 faculty member in the Nursing Department. This individual is responsible for providing student instruction in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, and maintaining required program standards for the Nursing Department. In addition, this individual works with other program faculty, as well as off-campus staff and personnel, and with the department director in establishing laboratory schedules, student advising, recruitment, and assists with assessment and evaluation of students in the Nursing Department, as well as other duties as assigned. General faculty responsibilities are identified in detail within the institution's Policy and Procedures Handbook.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Teaches courses as assigned within faculty workload guidelines including evening and weekend offerings. May be assigned to teach at outreach sites, including the Fremont Campus Center.
- Assists in the development and revision of curriculum and assists in the development of new course offerings and program expansion.
- Assists in the revision and updating of all program syllabi, lectures, lab exercises/tests, and reviews and updates instructional materials, as appropriate.
- Assists in program and student outcomes assessment.
- Works cooperatively with other full-time faculty, adjunct instructors and assists in providing training and supervision within the department.
- Assists in scheduling pre and post laboratory hours to demonstrate techniques, assist students in practice and perform “check-offs” as assigned skills and knowledge.
- Serves as faculty advisor for students.
- Responsible for providing the nursing programs with assistance in inventory control and the ordering of clinical and laboratory supplies in a manner conducive to promoting effective budget requests.
- Participates in regional reports, activities, committees and assignments and participates and contributes to state coalition and state initiatives.
- Participates in program promotional activities and maintains a work schedule agreed upon by the department chairperson and in concert with the faculty workload policy .
- Participates in regional/national self-studies/program reviews as required.
- Follows guidelines of the PCC Faculty Evaluation and Advancement Plan.
- Is responsible for adhering to all laws, policies, procedures, rules and regulations that govern and affect the College. This includes the Fiscal Rules of the State of Colorado.
- Other duties as assigned.
OUALIFlCATIONS
- Master of Science in Nursing or currently enrolled, with satisfactory progress, in a regionally accredited Master of Science Nursing program.
- Current license to practice Nursing in the State of Colorado.
- Minimum of three years occupational experience in pediatrics, or medical-surgical nursing.
- Teaching experience in higher education preferred.
- Must possess, or be eligible for Colorado Vocational Credential, which may require completion of the CC of C approved Career and Technical Teacher Induction Program.

- Willingness to attend required meetings, training sessions, or other related functions.
- Willingness to work as a team member.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Active participation in community programs including civic, charity, or professional organizations.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check as a condition of hire.
