Pueblo Community College's  Student Success Initiative is a Title V Developing Hispanic Serving Institutions Program grant project funded through the US Department of Education

 Project Overview

The project focuses on improving the retention, persistence and graduation rates of PCC students.

At times students are entering colleges under-prepared and/or overwhelmed with other responsibilities.  In addition, they lack the support and guidance needed to be successful.  We have designed our approach to help carry the load through various components such as improving support services by implementing Education Advocates, implementing and increasing the number of Learning Community offerings, and providing more specific professional development curriculum for faculty and staff.

Another major component is participation in the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE).  This assessment tool is student-driven and will help determine if and how the needs of our students are being met.  It will also serve as a benchmark and will facilitate any needed change on campus.
