
In 2001, the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges reaffirmed our accreditation for another 10 years.
The basis of that re-accreditation was the 2001 institutional Self Study, prepared with the involvement and assistance of all PCC faculty and staff.

In 2002, PCC voted to join the Academic Quality Improvement Program, a new reaccreditation and quality improvement process sponsored by the Higher Learning Commission. In taking this vote, PCC committed itself to continuous and recurring quality improvement based on valid performance measures, reliable assessment data, and employment of those data in improving our college.
Timeline
- September 2003: PCC's application to AQIP was approved.
- November 2003: 175 faculty and staff members participated in the Conversation Day.
- November 2003: Seven faculty and staff members attended the Strategic Forum in Chicago.
- Spring 2004: PCC officially declared its first Action Projects to address some challenges identified through the 2001 Self-Study process.
- May 2007: PCC submitted its first Systems Portfolio to AQIP.
- November 2007: The Systems Appraisal Team submitted its Feedback Report to PCC.
- November 2007: Ten faculty, staff members, administrators, and the chair of the PCC Advisory Council attended the Strategic Forum in Chicago.
- February 2010: PCC hosted its first Quality Checkup Visit.
- March 2010: The Quality Checkup visiting team submitted a report of findings to PCC.
- March 2010: The HLC voted to approve the request to extend accreditation of PCC to encompass San Juan Basin Technical College (SJBTC).
- September 2010: PCC hosted a Focused Visit. The visiting team affirmed the appropriateness and success of the merger with SJBTC.
- December 2010: The AQIP Review Panel on Reaffirmation of Accreditation examined PCC's accreditation-related materials. The Institutional Actions Council voted to continue PCC's accreditation through AQIP.
- May 2011: PCC submitted its second Systems Portfolio to AQIP.
- September 2011: The Systems Appraisal Team submitted its Feedback Report to PCC.
